About RazorSlice.com
RazorSlice.com is a review site for various pieces of software. I started this because I realized I wanted to communicate my opinion of various Linux distributions - as I was being asked by multiple people. I realized as well, that I do like to advocate the "best tool for the job", so other evaluations are needed. I do try to leave my Linux bias behind.
Why should you listen to me? Well, you shouldn't. These reviews are purely my opinion and to fully appreciate whether a piece of software will fit your needs, you should evaluate it yourself. However, I have worked as an IT Professional since about 1996, in roles ranging from Helpdesk, Systems Administration and Desktop Engineering. In addition, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Theoretical Computer Science.
While my local test lab consists of several machines I will mostly use the OS in a virtual machine (either virtualbox or vmware). However, I do have laptops, desktops and server class hardware (old retired server class hardware, but still server class). In each review I will specify what machine I tested it on.
I am open to suggestions on how to improve the site - comments are enabled on the reviews and I am always open to receiving email. Contact me at Josh.Albright [replace-with-at-sign] gmail com.
